High-five Friday

High Five Friday!!

Contest results seem to be pouring in from all directions at this time of year. Some writers are rejoicing, while others are sucking it up and moving on. It’s tough to put your words out there for other people to judge, so everyone who enters one of these contests automatically finals in the “Got Guts” round.

Lisa Lickel shares her joyful news with us. Her novel Meander Scar won a Grace Award for Excellence in Fiction in the Romance category.

Pat Trainum (writing as P. T. Bradley) celebrates learning that she finaled in the RWA Inspirational chapter’s, Hope, Faith, and Love  contest—Touched By Love.

It semi-finaled in the Historical Romance category of the ACFW Genesis Contest and finaled in the Inspirational categories of the Daphne du Maurier, Duel on the Delta, and Fool for Love contests. “I’d like to thank all the judges for the time they spent reading, scoring and commenting on my entries.”

Stephanie Landsem dances with a double dose of good news this month. On the heels of finaling in the ACFW Genesis Contest, she has signed with agent Chris Park of Foundry Literary and Media.

Naomi Rawlings had an awesome May. She finaled in the ACFW Genesis and the Touched by Love contests and placed second in Duel on the Delta.

Kathleen Y’Barbo rejoices in having her upcoming June release, The Inconvenient Marriage of Charlotte Beck, as a June top pick by Romantic Times with four and a half stars. It’s so exciting to be able to High Five!! these writers! Great job!

As for me, I didn’t make the final round of the Genesis, but my average score was better than I expected, so I’m not wallowing in the doldrums. In fact, it’s time to wean that puppy and get it out in the world.

I’m also all a-Twitter now. Come follow me and let’s tweet!
