It’s been a hot, dry month, but not for a number of writers who have big announcements and good news to celebrate.

Lena Nelson Dooley was pleased to learn her novel, Love Finds You in Golden, New Mexico, received the Will Rogers Medallion Award for excellence in western fiction.
James L. Rubart’s novel ROOMS has been chosen as a finalist in the Carol Award’s contest in two categories: Debut novelist and Speculative. The Carol Awards are for ACFW’s Book of the Year and will be announced at the ACFW Conference in September.
Edie Melson is excited to share that her new ebook, Social Media Marketing for Writers, reached number one in its category on Amazon! This book is published by Lighthouse of the Carolinas and can be downloaded to Kindle or Nook.
Tina Pinson announces a new contract for the first three books in her Shadow Series. The story follows Matthew Cavanaugh and Rebekah St. James from Maryland and Virginia during the Civil War and travels with them on the Oregon Trail. The first book When Shadows Fall releases May 2012, Shadowed Dreams and To Catch a Shadow come out toward the end of 2012 and mid 2013.
Vannetta Chapman is thrilled to be included in Zondervan and Harper Collins’ Amish Country Holiday Tour. Vannetta, Amy Clipston, and Shelley Shepard Gray will begin in Shipshewana, Indiana, on November 12, continue through Holmes County, and finish the tour in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on November 18th.
Max Anderson is pleased that his new novel, When the Lights Go Out, will be released August 1, in time for the tenth anniversary of the September 11th tragedy. Max’s tag line for this book, aimed at readers 8-13, is “So we never forget 9/11.”
