Reggie Meyers has spent her life pursuing the American Dream, but now she’s the one being pursued by an unknown killer. Putting her trust in Dylan Monroe, a man she barely knows, will either be the best decision she’s ever made or the last…
In Lillian Duncan’s new book, Pursued, Reggie finds herself going from the fry pan into the fire and dragging Dylan in with her. After they meet “by accident,” he becomes involved in protecting her from a gunman. Reggie finds she’s not only running from whomever is out to kill her, she’s also running from her growing attraction to Dylan. As an up-and-coming attorney living in the city, she has no desire to get involved with a farmer whose life is in the country—and a Christian at that.
Dylan is one cool guy with a good sense of humor, as well as the background to protect Reggie from her assailant. He also has some fun and influential friends in Billy Clyde Addams and his wife, Theresa. In my opinion, the scenes with Billy Clyde made the book. The humor and comraderie between Dylan and his friend flowed naturally and entertained.
Reggie, who grew up in the foster system, planned to better her life by pursuing her career and wealth. God never figured into her plans until she met Dylan and his family and friends. Though she thinks of herself as somewhat self-centered, Reggie has a good heart.
Of course, I won’t reveal the actual “who” of the whodunit. You’ll have to find out on your own. If you’re looking for light entertainment spiced with romance and danger, consider going after Pursued.
