I don’t have anything I’m technically reviewing this morning, even though I have been busy reading.
About three years ago, I read Sushi for One?, Camy Tang’s first book in her Sushi Series. I’m not normally a “chick-lit” fan, but I really enjoyed that book. I finally found the next two books in my church library and had to read them–Only Uni and Single Sashimi. Each book revolves around a particular cousin (there are four). As I was reading the second book, I began to wonder what happened to Cousin Number Four–Jenn. As far as I knew there were only three books. In checking out Camy’s website, I found something exciting. TA-DAAA!! There is a book four and it just released in July. How did I miss the hype for Jenn’s story?
So I finished Single Sashimi last night and went right into James Scott Bell’s A Certain Truth, another book in The Trials of Kit Shannon series. Somehow, I had also missed that one. If you like an early 1900s Los Angeles setting with a female Perry Mason, you’ll enjoy this series. The first three books with this character were co-authored with Tracie Peterson and went under the series title Shannon Saga.
Next on my list is The Girl in the Gatehouse by Julie Klassen. I’ve heard good things about this book and can’t wait to get to it. This one being only a year old, I’ll probably review it and let you know if, for me, it lived up to its reputation.
I have a couple more library books to read, then I bought some I can’t wait to get into: M. L. Tyndall’s The Restitution, Kathleen Y’Barbo’s Beloved Castaway, and Siri Mitchell’s Love’s Pursuit. Yes, all historicals! I am rubbing my hands together with impatience.
So, what’s in your stack? Have you read any of the above books? If so, how did you like it/them? What is the one book you have yet to read and can’t wait to get to it?
