Seriously Write: Beating Writer’s Block by Toni Shiloh

There comes a time in every writer’s life where they experience writer’s block. It’s the bane of our existence.
On the Seriously Write blog, author Toni Shiloh shares five tips for overcoming that dreaded writer’s block that keeps you staring at a blank screen.
What tips can you share to beat writer’s block?
I need fresh air and exercise.
If I stay alone at my desk, indoors all day, I get paralyzed. I allow myself to be distracted by social media, other computer tasks – even housework, which is probably a good thing!
I don’t need to go for a run or anything like that. Even if I just go outside and walk around the yard for a while, I get some clarity. I may not be able to jump back in and write another thousand words right away, but it stops the depressing “writers block” mindset.
Great thoughts, Cathe! I’ve also found it helps to take an occasional break to clear my head, so–when I remember 🙂 –I set an alarm.
