High-five Friday!!
A number of inspirational authors have had reason to celebrate in October. It was a month of new contracts, new releases, additional printings and more. Give a cyber High-five!! to the following:
The agent for Martha Rogers, Tamela Hancock Murray, has negotiated a new contract for her. Martha will be very busy writing a new four book series for 2011 and a stand alone novel for 2012.
Vannetta Chapman received word earlier this month that her first book, A Simple Amish Christmas, which released at the beginning of October, has already gone into a second printing.
Alice Wisler is excited about the October 1 release of her third novel, Hatteras Girl. This has been a month for numerous bookstore signings, so be on the lookout for her!
Eva Marie Everson learned that her book, A Taste of Fame (Baker/Revell), cowritten with Linda Evans Shepherd, was the editor’s pick for the September 27 issue of First for Women Magazine.
Michelle Buckman has had an awesome time lately. Two of her books released in the past month, Death Panels, and Rachel’s Contrition (number one on Amazon’s Bestselling Women’s Fiction list earlier this month). Among the complimentary remarks she has received about her writing, one came by postcard from Sarah Palin’s parents responding to Death Panels. She has also done national radio show interviews.
Anne Greene celebrates her soft-cover debut Scottish historical romance, Masquerade Marriage from White Rose Publishing (Anne’s first choice of publishers). Before being published, this book won third place in The Laurie and third place in the Finally A Bride contests.
Margaret Brownley’s new release, A Suitor for Jenny, Book 2 of her Rocky Creek series has been out less than a month, but has already gone into an early reprint.
Ava Pennington celebrated the release of her non-fiction book on the first of October. One Year Alone with God: 366 Devotions on the Names of God comes from publisher Revell Books. This one-year devotional enables the reader to explore 122 names and attributes of God from three perspectives: who God is, who the reader is, and how the reader relates to others.
Nicole M. Miller has signed with Wendy Lawton of Books & Such Literary
Agency. Nicole writes historical fiction and is especially interested in the World War II era. As one of her critique partners, I’ve been celebrating with Nicole and can’t wait to read her first published novel!
On a personal note, despite a hectic past couple of weeks, I’ve surpassed my Novel Track goal and am over halfway through the first draft of my current work-in-progress.
Great job everyone! High-five!!
