Review: The Rancher’s Reunion

A second chance at first love!

Oh, how Annie Harris seeks to experience that with Will Sullivan. After a traumatic incident forces her return to Oklahoma and the ranch on which she grew up, Annie struggles between going and staying. Will has no such battle with indecision; he wants her to stay. However, he will not give her what she wants most from him—a future together.

Tina Radcliffe rides high these days with the release of her first book The Rancher’s Reunion. Let’s face it. When you’re looking for an “aaahhh” read, you can’t go wrong with Harlequin’s Love Inspired line of novels. This one was well-written and enjoyable from the first line, “You look awful,” to the last line, which I won’t give here.

As writers, we’re always told to write what we know. Tina did that. She put her nursing background to good use in this story through Will’s fear for his future. Annie’s medical issue brings its own brand of fear and guilt.

If I had one druther, it’s that the story be longer. Due to the word count constraints of a Love Inspired book, that wasn’t possible. However, I believe Tina would have made great use of a larger word count to draw out and take us even deeper into the characters’ problems and emotions. Even so, the ending proved very satisfying.

I really enjoyed the time I spent with Annie and Will and look forward to Tina’s next novel, Oklahoma Reunion. I’ve been told it tells the story of one of the supporting characters in this book. And, if you’ve read my blog before, you know I love discovering what happens to supporting characters.

WHAT SAY YOU?

Have you read The Rancher’s Reunion yet? If so, who was your favorite character and why?

Boy am I a space case this week. I have been over here not once, not twice but…drum roll…three times and I have commented in my head. LOL.

Sandy, thanks for the kind words. Selling this book was actually a surprise as it was like my seventh full msc. But I guess I was finally ready. Ryan Jone’s story will be out in October!!

LOL! You can come on over as much as you like, Tina.

Seventh? Oh, no. I’m only on number three! As little time as he spent in the story, I loved Ryan!!! Can’t wait! 🙂
