After authors Angela Breidenbach and Valerie Comer collaborated on a Christmas anthology, they decided to get the marketing ball rolling in a fun and unique way. Today, on Seriously Write, Angela shares their idea.
As a writer, what marketing ideas have you had that could be considered out of the ordinary?
As a reader, what unusual marketing ploy for an author’s books have you seen or taken part in?
As an author of heartwarming historical and contemporary romance, Sandra Ardoin engages readers with page-turning stories of love and faith. Rarely out of reach of a book, she's also an armchair sports enthusiast, country music listener, and seldom says no to eating out.
We had so much fun making the 3 minute video. I think it’s one of many ways to share a smile or idea now days. We’re so much more a visual society. I’d love other ideas on what folks would like to see in short video clips.
Maybe, when the time comes, you could put together another video showing the cover. I’m guessing you and Valerie won’t have a lot of input into the cover, but you could point out things that relate to your story and add excitement that way. Just a thought. Thanks, Angie!
We actually do get some input on the cover. I’d like to catch some footage of the cover photo shoot. Then create a fun video of the making of the cover 🙂
I do like that idea. When you put it together, let me know. I run book trailers on this blog on Tuesdays. That would be fun, too.
Great 🙂 thank you!
