High Five Friday!!
The writing life has its ups and downs. Too often, the downs seem to outweigh the ups, so when we get good news in the form of a contract, agent, contest results, or special invitation, we take our celebrations seriously.
Today is High Five Friday!! on the blog, and we’re celebrating with authors who have received good news this month.
Vannetta Chapman celebrates receiving word that her novel Material Witness was awarded Best Inspirational Suspense for 2012 by the Desert Rose RWA, Golden Quill Award.
Lena Nelson Dooley praises God for allowing her to use her scriptwriting abilities once again. She has been chosen as the scriptwriter for a romantic suspense movie adapted from the novel of another author. The movie is titled Abducted to Kill and releases in early 2014.
For more reasons to celebrate, ACFW listed its finalists for both the Genesis (for unpublished writers) and the Carol Awards (for published novels). See who made the lists here and here. Special congratulations to my fellow Carolina Christian Writers members Myra Johnson and Lynette Eason.
As for me, I’m excited to have been invited to a “Meet the Author” session at the Church and Synagogue Librarian’s Association Conference in western North Carolina. I’m looking forward to meeting these librarians as well as the other inspirational writers who have been invited.
